Class VI Admission Notification for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for 2023–2024
In accordance with the National Policy of Education (1986), the Government of India began Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. Admission Notification to Class VI in 2023–2024. (JNVs). JNVs are currently found in 27 States and 8 Union Territories. Through a separate entity called Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, the Indian government fully funds and oversees these coed residential schools. The JAWAHAR NAVODAYA VIDYALAYA SELECTION TEST (JNVST) for Class VI is used to determine admission to JNVs. Up until Class VIII, JNVs use their native tongue or a regional language as the medium of instruction. After that, math and science are taught in English, and social science is taught in Hindi.
Students of the JNVs appear for board examinations of the Central Board f Secondary Education. While education in the schools is free including board& lodging, uniform and textbooks, a sum of Rs. 600/- per month is collected only from the students of Classes IX to XII towards Vidyalaya Vikas Nidhi. However, students belonging to SC/ST categories, Divyang students, all Girl students and the students whose family income is below poverty line (BPL) are exempted. In respect of wards of Government employees other than exempted category (Students of classes VI to VIII, all SC/ST & Girl students and wards of BPL families) Vikas Nidhi will be charged @Rs.1500/- per month or actual children education allowance received by the parent per month whichever is less. However, VVN shall not be less than Rs.600/- per student per month. -
Objectives of the Scheme
(i) To provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas.
(ii) To ensure that students attain a reasonable level of competency in three languages.
(iii) To promote national integration through migration of students from Hindi to Non-Hindi speaking State and vice-versa.
(iv) To serve in each district as focal point for improvement in quality of school education in general through sharing of experiences awnd facilities.Online applications are invited for admission to class VI in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas through Selection Test for the session 2023-24.

ELIGIBILITY
Candidates who are bonafide residents of the district and studying in class V in the academic session 2022-23 in Govt./ Govt. recognized school in the same district where JNV is functioning and to which they are seeking admission.
RESERVATION
• At least 75% Seats in a district will be filled by candidates from rural areas. Reservation for SC, ST, OBC and Divyang candidates as per Govt. Norms. Minimum 1/3 of the seats are reserved for girl students.
