India Post GDS Recruitment - 2025
The Department of Posts, Government of India, invites online applications for the engagement of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) including Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak under Schedule-I, January-2025. A total of 21,413 vacancies are available across various postal circles. Eligible candidates can apply through online.
Post-Wise Details:
1. Branch Postmaster (BPM)
Number of Posts: As per Circle-wise distribution.
Educational Qualification: 10th standard pass with Mathematics and English as subjects.
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years (relaxation as per government norms).
Job Responsibilities:
* Managing daily postal operations at the Branch Post Office.
* Marketing and promotion of India Post and IPPB services.
* Handling mail conveyance and delivery.
* Must arrange accommodation for the Branch Post Office.
2. Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)
Number of Posts: As per Circle-wise distribution.
Educational Qualification: 10th standard pass with Mathematics and English as subjects.
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years (relaxation as per government norms).
Job Responsibilities:
* Assisting BPM in various postal and financial operations.
* Doorstep delivery of mail and IPPB transactions.
* Selling stamps, stationery, and other postal services.
* Marketing and promotion of postal products.
3. Dak Sevak
Number of Posts: As per Circle-wise distribution.
Educational Qualification: 10th standard pass with Mathematics and English as subjects.
Age Limit: 18 to 40 years (relaxation as per government norms).

Job Responsibilities:
* Delivery of mail and parcels.
* Handling deposits, withdrawals, and other transactions of IPPB.
* Assistance in post office operations.
* Must reside within the jurisdiction of the assigned post office.

How to Apply:
* Candidates must apply online through https://indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in/
* One-time registration is required before application submission.
* No physical submission of documents is needed; only scanned copies of the required documents should be uploaded.
* Candidates must ensure accurate details as a correction window will be available from 06.03.2025 to 08.03.2025.
Selection Process:
* Selection will be based on a system-generated merit list prepared from the marks obtained in 10th standard.
* No written examination or interview is required.
* The merit list will be displayed on the portal, and selected candidates will be informed via SMS and email.
Key Points for Applicants:
* The last date to apply online is 03.03.2025.
* The application fee is Rs. 100/-, except for female, trans-woman, SC/ST candidates, who are exempted from payment.
* Knowledge of cycling and computer literacy is mandatory.
* Selected BPM candidates must arrange accommodation for their Branch Post Office.
* Engagement will be subject to document verification and medical examination.
* The minimum TRCA (Time-Related Continuity Allowance) is Rs. 12,000 - Rs. 29,380 for BPM and Rs. 10,000 - Rs. 24,470 for ABPM/Dak Sevak.
* Candidates must provide valid category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD) at the time of document verification.
Age relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years, OBC - 3 years, PWD - 10 years (further relaxation as per category).
Applicants should regularly check the portal for updates regarding selection and verification.
One State/One Circle Only:
* Candidates can apply only for one postal circle (state/UT).
* If a candidate applies for multiple circles, all applications will be rejected.
Selection of Division & Post Preferences:
* After selecting the postal circle, candidates must choose the division within that circle.
* They can provide post preferences within the selected division.
Local Language Requirement:
The candidate must have studied the local language of the selected circle up to the 10th standard.* Each state has its own prescribed local language (Annexure-III of the notification).

* Candidates need to register and submit their application online at https://indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in/
* They can modify/edit their application only within the correction window (06.03.2025 to 08.03.2025).
Merit List & Selection Process:
* Selection is based on 10th standard marks, and only one post per candidate will be allotted based on merit.
* If a candidate is found eligible for multiple posts, the system will allocate the highest preference post as per merit.
Multiple Applications Will Be Rejected:
If a candidate submits multiple applications using different registrations or credentials, all applications will be canceled.
Last Date to Apply:
* Online Application Submission: 10.02.2025 to 03.03.2025
* Correction Window: 06.03.2025 to 08.03.2025.
